Free Nerf Guns Backfire: The True Story of How Nerf Perks Rewards Failed Me!
Alright guys, so here’s the story.: First of all, the featured image for this article is of the Rhino-Fire, but up above you’ll find a picture of the old Nerf Havok Fire. Why is that? Well, let’s back up a bit first. The Nerf Havok Fire is basically a Nerf Elite paint job on the old N-Strike Vulcan. And it looks super duper cool. If I ever got my hands on one, I thought, it would be the perfect candidate for an epic Vintage Nerf review on my website and video on YouTube. So, I made it my mission to do just that.
I joined the Nerf Perks Rewards Program and quickly racked up enough points for them to send me some free Nerf guns. Their ultimate tier 1 reward? A brand new Nerf Havok Fire! I redeemed my points, got the confirmation email and then I waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. And then? I waited some more! Finally, after a few months, I reached out to them. They sent me this:
So, they said they were going to make it up to me with some other kind of Nerf goodness. But, guys, I was still really disappointed! I was really looking forward to grabbing one of these rare Nerf blasters and sharing it with all of you!
Free Nerf Guns – Round 2. FIGHT!
So a few weeks go by and I receive a big brown box with the words “Hasbro Toys” on the side. Clearly my free Nerf guns had arrived! Hasbro sent me a brand new Nerf N-Strike Elite Rhino-Fire blaster, free of charge! They also sent me a pack of 75 Elite Darts. Best of all? They gave me all of my Nerf Perks points back so I could redeem them again for something else. Here’s a picture of the Rhino.:
Now I can see why they would send me a Rhino-Fire as a Havok Fire replacement. They’re both big, oversized, mounted machine gun styled Nerf blasters. And yes, they both come with very similar included tripod legs. But, that’s where the similarities end. The Vulcan/Havok Fire is a classic N-Strike blaster. And it has two firing modes. You could hold down the trigger and fire it automatically, yes. But when your batteries ran out? You could still fire the thing! It had a bolt action single fire mode that worked without batteries. Brilliant!
Nerf Perks – The Best Way To Score Free Nerf Guns.
So the moral of the story is this: Hasbro screwed up, but they tried their best to fix it. I’m still disappointed that I won’t be getting my hands on a Nerf Havok Fire anytime soon, but I’ll get over it. I was actually pretty impressed with how they handled the situation. Although, if I wanted to pick nits, they did just forget about me for a few months before I contacted them. And they seem to have run out of Havok-Fire’s mighty quick. In the end, though, I forgive them. I forgive you, Hasbro! It’s still Nerf or Nothing! And if you want free Nerf guns, Nerf Perks is the best way to get them.
