Nerf Modulus Flip Clip Upgrade Kit Review

Well, the Nerf Modulus has arrived and with it comes a host of new Nerf gun attachments possibilities. Not only does the base Modulus blaster come with a set of new Nerf attachments, they also make 4 separate Nerf Modulus Upgrade Kits that are compatible with any blaster that has those N-Strike/N-Strike Elite tactical rails and stock attachment points and muzzles. Which is to say, nearly every single blaster on the market right now. With this kit, the Nerf Modulus Flip Clip Upgrade Kit, you basically get to activate the Dual Mags perk from Call of Duty for your Nerf blaster.

Nerf Modulus Flip Clip Upgrade Kit

Alright, so I’m back at it again with the Nerf Modulus kits. By now, especially if you read my last Modulus Upgrade Kit review, you should already know that I love Nerf gun attachments and that I’m a pretty big fan of the Nerf Modulus. I won’t go over that whole spiel again, but just know… I’m a pretty big fan. So let’s just get right into the review: this time, it’s the Nerf Modulus Flip Clip Upgrade Kit. Let’s go!

What’s In The Box?!

In the box, you’ll find the flip clip itself and 24 white Elite darts. That’s all. Time to go over the Flip Clip in a bit more detail…

Nerf Modulus Flip Clip Upgrade Kit Breakdown.:

The Flip Clip consists of two custom 12-round magazines with a connector that holds the two mags together, in opposite directions. I say custom because there are little bumps on the side of the mags that allow the connector piece to anchor on and hold them sturdily. And believe me when I say this: the connection is incredibly sturdy. Unlike the shaky connection formed by the original flip clip that Nerf manufactured back in the N-Strike days, this thing is not going to fail you. As far as the included darts, they are just standard white Modulus Elite darts. This Nerf Modulus kit comes with 24 of them. That sounds like a lot, but it’s just enough to fill up the flip clips two 12 dart mags.

Final Thoughts and Opinions.:

If you want to reenact your cool Call of Duty antics out on the Nerf battlefield, look no further. The Nerf Modulus Flip Clip Upgrade Kit is for you. No, but seriously, this is a great Nerf Modulus kit. It’s branded as a Nerf Modulus kit, but just like all of the other Upgrade Kits, this one can be used with any Clip System Blaster in the lineup, period. The banana mag that the Nerf Modulus ECS-10 bundle comes with is pretty tacticool. It looks really cool, but as for straight functionality, it’s not the best. It has a max capacity of 10 darts. The banana curve of the magazine also makes it a little more difficult to store them on a battle belt or in a tac vest/plate carrier/etc. Using this flip clip kit does allow you to carry much more ammo, and since it’s still just a straight mag, it usually fits wherever you carried your other straight mags. This kit also cuts down on reloading times as well, as it will take emptying 12 darts from each side of the dual sided mag before you’re empty. Lots of people will tell you they can make jungle mags very easily with their existing mags, even using 18 round mags to beat the capacity of this kit. That’s very true, and I even do it at the end of my YouTube video above, but that’s okay. This kit is not claiming to revolutionize the Nerf magazine game, but at such an affordable price, you aren’t losing anything here. If you want to pick up a couple of 12 dart magazines (which aren’t typically sold individually, by the way), then you can’t really go wrong with purchasing this kit. You can even detach the connector piece from the mags and use them as you would any other single mag. Great. Compared to the 18-Dart quick clip, this is just as good of a deal, if not better.
